About Kintarox

Practical, honest help you can actually use

Kintarox is a calm, practical gardening guide — keeping houseplants alive, growing food in beds and containers, solving pests and problems, and making the most of a balcony, backyard, or bright windowsill.

Why we started Kintarox

Most how-to content online falls into one of two traps. It is either thin and padded — a couple of obvious tips wrapped in filler, stock photos, and pop-ups — or it is a sales pitch dressed up as advice. Either way you often leave more confused than when you arrived. We wanted a third option: clear, honest, genuinely useful guides written by people who care about getting the details right.

Kintarox started in 2026 as a small set of notes between people who kept answering the same questions for everyone around them. Those notes turned into guides, and the guides turned into this. Today we publish across 4 areas — houseplants, vegetable garden, plant care & problems, garden design & small spaces — all built on the same belief: good, plain guidance beats hype every time, and the best advice is the kind you can actually act on.

How we work

Every guide is written or edited by someone with real, hands-on experience of the topic. We favour depth over volume, we revisit and update guides as things change, and we are upfront about what we don't know. When we suggest a tool, a product, or an approach, it is because we'd suggest it to a friend — not because someone paid us to.

We are also clear about our limits. Kintarox offers general information and opinion, not professional advice tailored to your situation. For anything that carries real consequences, you should confirm the details with a qualified professional or an official source. You can read more in our disclaimer and about how we research in our editorial policy.

What we value

The principles behind every guide

Practical, not aspirational

We write the guides we wish we'd had — clear steps, honest trade-offs, and advice that works in a real home on a real budget. If something only works in ideal conditions, we say so.

Reader-first, always

Our recommendations are independent. We are never paid to praise a product or brand, and we keep advertising clearly separate from editorial.

Clarity over noise

We won't bury the answer under a life story or a wall of pop-ups. We get to the point, explain the why, and respect your time.

Plain and honest

No jargon, no hype, and no hiding the hard parts. We explain things the way we'd explain them to a friend.

The team

Who writes Kintarox

Elena Rios
Elena Rios
Founder & Garden Editor

Elena has gardened in cramped apartments and sprawling backyards, and she's killed enough plants to know exactly why they die. She founded Kintarox to give beginners calm, honest guidance instead of intimidating jargon. She believes anyone can grow something, and that the fastest way to learn is to start small and pay attention.

Tom Hargreave
Tom Hargreave
Edibles & Soil Writer

Tom grows vegetables the practical way — good soil, sensible crops, and no gadgets you don't need. He writes about growing food in real conditions, from raised beds to a few pots by the door, and he's frank about what's worth the effort and what isn't. His rule: feed the soil and the plants mostly take care of themselves.

Mei Lin
Mei Lin
Houseplants & Small Spaces

Mei turned a dim city apartment into a small jungle and learned every lesson the hard way first. She writes about houseplants and tiny-space gardening with patience and a light touch, focusing on the handful of habits that keep indoor plants healthy. She's convinced most plant problems come down to light and water — usually too much of one.
